For charities and agents
Gift Aid API claims Gift Aid for three kinds of organisation. Registration opens soon.
Who can register
- A charity claiming its own Gift Aid, with its HMRC charities reference and an authorised official.
- An agent or nominee claiming for one charity at a time, with the reference HMRC gave it.
- A collecting agent claiming for many charities in one submission, with its HMRC agent number.
An organisation that acts in more than one of these ways registers once for each.
What registering takes
- A sign-in with Google, Facebook or an email link, with an email address you can show is yours.
- Your organisation's HMRC reference, and the details HMRC's claim names for your kind of organisation.
- Evidence a person at giftaidapi can check: we look your organisation up on the public registers, and may ask for a letter from HMRC.
- Acceptance of the terms of service and the data processing agreement.
What we hold
Only what HMRC's claim needs. For your donors' data your organisation is the controller and we are its processor; the privacy notice and the data processing agreement say how.
